Despite its grand-sounding designation of Community Interest Organisation, the Shed operates as a club for the benefit of its members. Most are usually busy with personal or group projects (or just setting the world to rights, which is very time-consuming). A few, such as the shed manager and keyholders, have roles that ensure security and safety. Others maintain the premises and equipment. Thankfully some take it upon themselves to wash up and do other housekeeping (it's a shed but needn't be a tip!), or simply maintain a supply of cake, biscuits and the like.
