History of the Shed

The first stage of this project involved finding an accessible and central location, appropriate funding and a team of enthusiastic members with the drive to make the project happen.
Their outstanding success resulted in the creation of ‘The Shed’ in its current location on the Oswestry show ground. After clearing the site of trees and undergrowth and positioning of a generously donated Portacabin, the workshop building was constructed and fitted out with heating and electricity which supports the installation of various machines and tools to be used by the members in construction of their projects.

Shortly after this we developed a tech area which includes computing and electronics.  Several members have skills in these areas which are happily  shared.  Want to learn basic skills, we can get you on line and email but expect plenty of tea breaks cos we love tea breaks.  Complex skills are there to share also.

The next step – was the metalwork shed.
We managed to convert a container into a lined shed housing metalworking, milling and welding gear. This was completed in the autumn of 2018.

The next plan is to build an arts and modelling shed so watch this space!

Opening Times:  10am - 4pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
